Dr Bianca Barron - General Practitioner

Community Involvement

Dr Barron's practice is an integral part of the Steenberg community. Steenberg is an underdeveloped part of Cape Town, and many residents suffer social ills, including unemployment and poverty. Dr Barron contributes to community upliftment in various ways.

Annual Christmas Party

Dr Barron invites the aged and children of Steenberg to a Christmas party. Residents of the following senior frail care facilities are invited:

  • Douglas Murray
  • Mandoline Place
  • St Montague Village Care Centre
It is a day where young and old are entertained by a variety of performers and games, a lucky draw is held, and a delicious lunch is served to all. In 2011, deputy mayor Ian Nielson was a lunch guest, honouring Dr Barron and the Steenberg community by his presence.

Winter Soup Kitchen

Winters in Cape Town are brutally cold and wet, leaving undernourished community members vulnerable to ill health. Dr Barron provides an annual winter soup kitchen. The facility provides free warm soup and bread every Wednesday morning during the winter months.

Football

Dr Barron sponsored football kits for a local football team in Steenberg.
